Similarities

1. Both plant and animal cell have cytoplasm. Cytoplasm is a jelly-like substance which fills up the cell and where many activities of the cell takes place.

2. Both have cell membrane. Cell membrane is a semi-permeable thin layer around the cell that controls movement of substances in and out of the cell.  

Differences

Plant Cell	Animal Cell
Has chloroplasts. Chloroplasts are tiny discs that contains the green pigment called chlorophyll	Do not have chloroplast
Has cell wall. Cell wall supports the cell and gives it a regular shape	Do not have cell wall

Cell is a system because it is made of different parts (nucleus, cell membrane, etc) that work together so the cell can perform its purpose/function.
